About me.“I have always been fascinated with visual storytelling, the elements within the frame that tell a story and create an experience for the audience".
Inneke has a strong passion for screen language and design asthetics which started from the early age of eight; as the craft of television and filmmaking lead her to appreciate the creative arts and the power of visual storytelling. Her career focus is teaching Media Arts and English for secondary school students - sharing her passion with young people and giving 'voice' to their creativity. Bio: Inneke Smit has graduated from the Australian Film Television and Radio school with Master of Arts in Production Design and has a B.A honours from UNSW in theatre, Film and English. Has Certificate 4 in film and television production from TAFE NSW. Inneke has art directed on a variety of films, such as the independent feature "Indigo Lake" for Cobbstar Productions which has won Best Feature All Genre - at the Los Angeles Independent Film Festival Award 2018 and multiple short films such as AFC Funded "Drowning" 2009. She has also Production Designed low-budget feature film "Cross-Life" that premiered at the 2007 Sydney International Film Festival, Pusan International Film Festival and was nominated for an IF Independent Spirit Award. Inneke has worked as Property Master on "Bad Mothers", Network 9, "A Place to Call Home" Season 5 (1-8 eps) for Foxtel and "Playing for Keeps" for Screentime Productions for Network 10. Inneke has designed TV series "The Good Cop" and "Undercurrent" for CJZ Productions screening on Foxtel and Seven Network respectively. Production Designer/Costume Designer for indie horror-film "The Faceless Man". "I believe my industry experience will add value to my teaching practice, inspiring students' , promoting their potential and supporting them in their learning". |
